The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
While this was an interesting story....Alicia kills her husband and when arrested refuses to speak and so she is sentenced to jail.....throughout the book we read about her therapy with Theo and how he decides to take it on himself to get her to talk about what happened the night her husband was killed.
The story doesnt start to get intriguing until the end when Theo finally gets her to talk - meanwhile Alicia is keeping a diary which at the end of the book becomes very valuable in figuring out the rest of this story.
There is a twist the closer we get to the end but the problem I had with this book was it sort of left me hanging. Or are we to put our own thoughts into how it might further conclude. There are different ways it could turn but I would have liked a little bit more finality in the lives of the characters.
