Nobody's Wife by Laura Pearson
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Thanks to NetGalley I was able to read this ARC for an honest review.
Emily and Josephine were half-sisters who were very close in growing up and so when Emily got married to Michael, Emily was of course happy for her. But little did she know she was soon to be betrayed.
This book was a bit slow in the beginning but then picked up when the story took a turn and Emily's actions brought down the split among her family. The story brings out the ties of friends and family when one acts on their feelings and not think of the consequences. It was basically a good story but disappointing in some ways. I felt the characters were not emotional enough. I expected more yelling and anger than was featured. And I did not like the ending at all. But maybe the author was thinking of a sequel to satisfy my curiosity as to what happened to Emily and Jack!
