Beautiful Country: A Memoir by Qian Julie WangMy rating: 3 of 5 stars
I am not a memoir reader but this book was picked for a book club I belong to. It was a long, slow moving story of Qian Qian who immigrated to the US and all the hardships she endured during her transition from a young girl to a young woman.
Her family life was hard but she seemed to overcome it and end up in Yale becoming a lawyer. I would have like to read about that transition and her years past her youth but found it sketchy at most her story being bits and pieces of her life.
Overall an interesting read but sad. #threestars
