Havent read this author in quite awhile but one of my book clubs was reading it.  So decided to give it a try.  And yes, I was hooked on the story.  It centers around Pat Traymore, reporter, whose family was killed (father killed mother???) and she was hurt badly.  She goes on to do well, and returns to her home town to report on a Virginia Senator, Abigail Jennings who is looking to get the seat for VP of the United States.

Also, she wants to return to her home to see if she can make sense of the family killing many decades before.  Of course, more than the truth comes out when she learns not only of her past, but the whole story behind the story.  Loved this book and forgot how much this author is a good story teller.
