Traffic Ticket

It has taken me some time to write about this because I am so angry about it.....but alas, there is nothing I can do about it and being angry is not helping my health.  You see, two weeks ago i was driving home when I approached an intersection and proceeded to make a right hand turn.....you must know that this particular intersection is two ways - 4 lanes.

I had the green light and made the turn....only to be pulled over by a police car.....She gets out of her car and of course asks for license and registration....what did i do?  Apparently someone stepped off the curb to cross (4 lanes from the other side of the road) and I failed to stop.  She just stepped off the curb - I did not beat her out or prevent her from completing her crossing the street.....even 4 lanes away - with enough time to get 3 cars turning cleared......

So I kept my mouth shut - although I did try to explain - didnt do any good - and took the ticket..........$130.....just what i needed this time of year....

Now that I am over it, paid the fine.....I am just letting everyone know to watch out this time of year when every movement of your driving is scrutinized.......just wish they would catch those idiots who go through stop signs and red lights ...or cut me off................

  1. oh, how aggravating. and if you had the green light, the pedestrian should have had a do not cross light, that cop was wrong.

  2. All I can say is "Amen"!. It always seems like the good people get the tickets and the ones who constantly run stop signs and red lights get by with it. Makes me aggravated!

  3. This is awful! I'm sorry this happened to you. That seems so silly. Thanks for the reminder to watch all sides of the intersection.

  4. That is insane. I dont think you deserved that at all! They do dumb things like that around here too - but let people get away with running red lights. It doesn't make sense.

  5. I really wish your officers would come to my neighborhood. I walk my children to school every day and at least 50% of the time cars run the red lights. I've been almost hit twice crossing in a crosswalk with the lighs telling me it was ok and being aware of my surrounding. Totally not your situation, but I needed to vent! Unfortunately, sounds like you just were in the wrong place at the wrong time and caught an officer in a bad mood. Did you go to court? My other thought on the matter is that everything does happen for a reason. Maybe you were stopped so that something worse didn't happen.
