Wow even though McFadden tells a great long story, I was thrilled that she wrote this short one. Read it in one sitting and this story is just as great as her books. I feel there should be another story continuing this strange relationship.
Stella and her husband are broke and its Christmas Eve. Stella works hard long hours and she needs a gift for her husband. Fate leads her to a pawn shop with a mysterious woman who offers a trade for Stella to get her husband a gift......
What follows is strange, and a bit scary....and the outcome is not what I was expecting. Again, thanks to McFadden, I got lost in a great story!
