I would rather.....

be on a beach, be starting my cruise, reading a book, drinking a glass of wine......instead I am getting ready for our annual block party on Saturday.  I one day deal....but it has taken me almost two weeks to prepare for it....

It is an amazing day, with water slides like above, cotton candy, jumpers and lots of music.  Families are outside from morning to night, cooking and eating all day.  Kids are running all around and having fun.  But it is still work....been shopping, preparing and cleaning.....still have to get buns for the hotdogs and hamburgers...and ice for the chest.

But I still would rather be on my deck, reading one of the many books on my Kindle.  With a glass of wine....At my age, quiet and serenity....like going to the beach, is a must.  I do love the grandkids and sometimes we go to the zoo....which is ok...love the outdoors and I do get to sit from time to time.  I would also rather be on a cruise (oh wait, I have one booked) soon to the Bahamas....ahh....where someone else takes care of me....cooks, cleans and entertains me.....I can do that.

What else would I rather be doing? Crafting....making more jewelry items like bracelets and necklaces.  It is a way for me to relax also.  I would also rather be having a mani and pedi which I need.  Another relaxing thing to do.  But alas, we all have responsibilities.....but interspersed with that we must find time to relax....and smell the roses.....
