When I Found You by Catherine Ryan Hyde
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I love books that start off with a bang; they latch on to you and you don't want to let go. This book does just that. Nathan leads a simple life, a quiet one with his wife. He goes hunting one morning and finds a baby partially buried in the woods where he hunts. The baby is alive and Nathan starts a whole new chapter of his life. The story follows the child's life (with his grandmother who claimed the child) until she can no longer care for him. Nat (as she named him) is then brought to Nathan to raise.
The ups and downs of Nat's life and how it intertwined with Nathans kept this reader turning the pages. You begin to laugh and cry with them all the way to the end. Bring out the tissues and ride along with the two Nathans....where their friendship and love is tested by their trials of everyday life.
