Let the Gutting begin.....

So Hurricane Sandy has rendered my downstairs un-livable.  The mounds of garbage have been getting bigger and bigger and there is no other place to put it.  Some have gone curbside, while others are just laying in the back yard...

With all the damaged stuff outside in the yard, we have begun (not we, the contractors lol) gutting the walls, to get the wetness out, and figuring out how to repair the downstairs.....

Slow but sure things are returning to normal....got a rental car, so I can go food shopping, etc. Insurance papers are being updated every day.  One car is totalled....still waiting for word on the other one.  The neighborhood is recovering too.  We tend to joke around more and just feel lucky that we are all alive...things can be replaced.....
